Congress Travel Awards for Young Investigators
Are you worried that you won’t be able to afford to travel to Australia this summer?
The ICN2018 Local and Program Organizing Committees are working hard to support the attendance of young investigators at this exciting congress.
All young investigators (graduate students and postdocs less than three years post-degree) are eligible for travel awards the moment they register for the congress, submit their abstracts and indicate in the tick-box provided that they would like to be considered.
If you already have travel assistance from another source, please don’t double up. Also be honest about your academic age, these awards are for current PhDs and those 3 years post award.
Up to 50 awards of Au$1000 will be awarded by the Local Organizing Committee and Program Committee based on the quality, interest, and relevance to neuroethology of the abstract submitted.
That’s it–no other application is required!
Awards will be announced in April and distributed at or immediately after the Brisbane Congress.
Heiligenberg Student Travel Awards
Further to this, during the conference ISN will award up to 15 Heiligenberg Student Travel Awards. Application instructions are available on the ISN website. Applicants must be current student members of the ISN. The deadline for applications for the Heiligenberg Student Travel Awards is April 30, 2018.
These will be $US750 each (around Au$1000). Awards will be announced prior to the Congress, with reimbursements paid upon submission of receipts to the ISN Treasurer after the Congress.
How to nominate for a Travel Award
You will be required to have the facility to register and pay upfront for ICN2018 to allow you to submit an abstract.
On the abstract submission form you will be able to indicate your intention to be considered for one of the travel awards.
If you are successful in receiving a travel award you will be notified and provided with the award monies on site at the Congress in July or immediately after the Congress.
Some special case awards will be considered for monies being received before the congress for those from difficult or distant countries unable to raise funds for the abstract submission and registration process. These will still be based on merit and academic excellence of the abstract and awarded in May. These will be considered by the local and program committees on a case by case basis and a good case will need to be made.
Nomination Deadline: February 15, 2018.
